Nine Demons (Sub Ep) [VHS]7 reviews
Tien-chi Cheng, Li Wang

Ground Zero, 2000

Kung Faust
From beginning to end this movie is hands down one of the most insane kung fu movies I've ever seen. Much more akin to films like "Versus" than "The Five Deadly Venoms," this film has everything but the proverbial kitchen sink thrown into it. On the surface it's a pretty standard revenge film - father gets murdered, son goes on rampage - but that is only the skeleton on which the true substance ...

Spiritual Kung Fu [VHS]17 reviews
Jackie Chan, Chih-ping Chiang

TRUE CLASSIC~!!!
This is one of my most memorable Jackie Chan movie which I saw it for the very first time when I was 12 years old, it was 1980 in Japan. Jackie Chan popularity was booming back then, and he made many TV show appearance in Japan. Now almost 25 years later in my life, I finally get to see this film again, here in the USA. The movie was better when I saw it as a child in the past. I suppose I have ...

Shaolin Temple Strikes Back (Extended Play Edition) [VHS]7 reviews
Chi Ping Chang, Ching Cheng (II)

Xenon, 2002

one of the best shaolin movies ever.
This movie is one of the first joseph kuo movies that he directed. And up until 7 grandmasters, I thought he was digressing from this movie on. This is listed everywhere that it was made in 72. If this is true it was certainly the best movie around the time. Chinese connection is the only movie that could compare with this that is from that year. The fights in this movie are really intense. ...

If you want to see a black man with kung fu skills then you need to buy this movie. The final fight is worth the value of the movie.

Pedicab Driver [VHS]6 reviews
Lung Chan, Alfred Cheung

Tai Seng Video Marketing, 1998

Representative of Hong Kong cinema at its best
I've been watching Hong Kong movies for about a decade now, and to me very few films from what will probably be remembered as Hong Kong's golden age of film in the eyes of the world match this one for its seamless blend of cinematic styles-- rapid-fire action, comedy, romance, drama and tragedy. I wouldn't give five stars to just anything, and having seen this film abroad I can't vouch ...

Shi ba ban wu yi [VHS]5 reviews
Fei-fei Cheng, Tien-chi Cheng

Best Film & Video 2, 1998

Nevermind the misleading title, enjoy pure chop-sockey joy.
This film's title would lead one to believe that the movie is full of great weapons-based fight scenes in true martial arts movie style. Not quite. Sure, there are some (excellent) weapon-fighting sequences early in the movie, but they are short and have nothing really to do with the actual "plot" of the movie. But you know what? It doesn't even matter! This movie is a classic because ...

Wu Tang Clan (Dub Ep) [VHS]15 reviews
Wai-Man Chan, Bi-fung Chen

Xenon, 2002

one of the best kung-fu flicks ever!!!!!
this has some of the most amazing fight scenes ever, especially the last one in the prison area. the story is basic, about the shaolin temple being stopped by an emperor, in which one of the students from the temple is working for. he helps captures the students who are still alive and tortures them in the prisons for a reason (which i won't give away). definetally one of the best!!!

Hong [VHS]1 review
Ping Chin, Yun Ling

Tai Seng Video, 1998

shipwrecked
Even with the beautiful setting for the film and the interesting action, the plot seemed unsubstantial. I felt like I wanted to constantly compare the charming yet confusing leading lady with certain characters in a famous castaway sitcom, with her antics and naivity. Making me think, "The skipper will know what to do," .....not view this film. Not my personal choice for a Wei Lo movie.
