The Legend [VHS]48 reviews
Jet Li, Adam Cheng

Walt Disney Video, 2001

Don't be thrown off by the reviews copied in from "The Legend"--LOFSYuk is utterly fantastic and not to be missed!!!
Due to a glitch at Amazon, there are numerous reviews cross-pasted from a hatchet-job of this movie called "The Legend." Buy the Dragon Dynasty release without fear: this is the real deal! I've seen this movie in the theater several times. I can tell you that this is not only one of Jet Li's finest films, but also one of the real gems of HK movies, and one of the best period martial arts ...

Crystal Hunt [VHS]6 reviews
Donnie Yen, Sibelle Hu

Tai Seng, 1998

Donnie Yen makes this a watchable film
Crystal Hunt was a fairly poor film, perhaps due to lack of budget, but it was none the less an average film that you wouldn't mind renting, which is what I did. Donnie Yen makes this film and his fights against regulars such as Micheal Woods( whom was the muscular fighter that fought against Donnie Yen on the top of the building at the end of 'In Line of Duty 4') makes this film fairly watchable ...

The Deadliest Art - The Best of the Martial Arts Films [VHS]12 reviews
John Saxon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

20th Century Fox, 1999

An excellent history lesson
This could be the best martial arts tape I have ever had the pleasure of purchasing. The scenes contained in this compilation are some of the very best ever caught on film and until just recently, thanks to the popularity of Jackie Chan and Jet Li, had never been seen by a U.S. audience. This tape basically gives you a history of the martial arts in film. It starts with the granddaddy of them ...

China Heat [VHS]1 review
Sibelle Hu, Sophia Crawford

Tai Seng, 1998

Kung fu hilarity as Chinese cops visit ?New York?
If Edward D. Wood Jr. (PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE) had ever made a kung fu film, it would resemble CHINA HEAT (1990), one of the most inept Hong Kong films yet released in the U.S. Supposedly set in New York City, it was shot somewhere in the Pacific Northwest (probably in and around Vancouver, like Jackie Chan's RUMBLE IN THE BRONX) and involves the attempts of a four-person squad of mainland ...

Tai Chi II [VHS]16 reviews
Jacky Wu, Christy Chung

Tai Seng Video Marketing, 1998

Great Tai Chi Quan Kung Fu Movie
"Tai Chi Fist (aka Tai Chi II)" is a great Tai Chi movie, which you should definitly see if you liked The Tai Chi Master (Series Movie). Jacky Wu plays the main character, so the Tai Chi Quan Kung Fu is top notch! The movie also stars many of the same actors, who were in The Tai Chi Master (Series Movie). Like Tai Chi Master starring Jet Li, "Tai Chi Fist (aka Tai Chi II)" is both a comical ...

Devil Hunters [VHS]1 review
Alex Man, Moon Lee

Tai Seng Video Marketing, 1998

Stunt players take the heat?literally!?in HK crime thriller
DEVIL HUNTERS (1989) is a convoluted Hong Kong crime thriller with enough kung fu, shootouts, explosions and gratuitous sadism to keep most jaded HK action fans satisfied. It deals with the efforts of a host of characters to bring down a Hong Kong drug lord. Not only are the cops after him, but so are a bunch of other people with grudges, including Abby, a mysterious kung fu-fighting young woman ...

Chocolate Inspector [VHS]1 review
Michael Hui, Anita Mui

Tai Seng Video, 1998

Classic Michael Hui comedy.
This is another excellent comedy from the king of dead-pan Michael Hui. This time he plays Inspector Chocolate (so called because of his love of Smarties). Alongside him is his trusty sidekick Egg-Tart (Ricky Hui). After bumbling yet another case, Choclate's superior gives him the task of taking his model/policewoman daughter under his wing. Now in charge of missing persons, the threesome are ...

Angel Terminators 2 [VHS]3 reviews
Sophia Crawford, Sibelle Hu

Tai Seng Video, 1998

Quite possibly the greatest "Girls with Guns" film ever made
If you are a HK cinema fan who's never seen this film, then you need to order this one right away! Violent, fast-paced and a high bodycount make this one of the greatest "GWG" I have ever seen, and I've seen just about all of them. With an all-star cast that includes: Moon Lee, Yukari Oshima and Sibelle Hu -- I can't think of a reason why anyone wouldn't want to see this. ANGEL TERMINATORS 2 has ...

Yuan Zhen-Xia yu Wei Si-Li [VHS]6 reviews
Ken Boyle, Maggie Cheung

Earth shattering
"The Seventh Curse" is an utterly insane film. No other phrase so adequately describes the experience of watching this low budget Asian picture. I read a plot summary some time ago about the movie, thought it sounded interesting, and decided to give it a shot. Well, the summary totally failed to convey the depths of weirdness plumbed by the film. I thought I would be watching a straight horror ...

Lethal Panther [VHS]2 reviews
Alex Fong, Ka-Kui Ho

Tai Seng, 1998

excellent documentary, but hard to understand sometimes
this is a good way to get the gist that is hong kong cinema, with the women doing stunts, kung fu with the best of any actor in that genre. Some of it was hard to understand(the interviews)but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I give it 3 stars

Xia ri fu xing [VHS]7 reviews
Sammo Hung Kam-Bo, Sibelle Hu

One of Jackie's best.
The fight scenes in this are incredible. Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Andy Lau, Sammo Hung, and Richard Norton all have some of the best fight scenes. The routine with Sammo and his freind trying to get into bed with a girl is pretty cheesy, but hey! You watch Jackie Chan movies for action not for Oscar caliber performances! Come on! I rank this one up there with his other fine martial arts movies.
