Five Stars for SHANNON LEE
Sure the movie's a stinker but Shannon Lee looks great and has some moves. Worth watching to see her. Why isn't she in better movies???

Silent Assassins [VHS]2 reviews
Sam J. Jones, Linda Blair

Anchor Bay/Starz, 1993

Hey, that's ME!
I must admit, the only reason why I saw this film and am so intereted in this film is because I am in it. If you look on the back of the jacket, I am photographed on the right side and am the one that is being strangled. If you watch this movie, I am the one that is the waiter and goes downstairs for a bottle of wine. I enjoyed the movie and I hope that you do too.

The Assassin [VHS]1 review
Steve Railsback, Elpidia Carrillo

Hbo Home Video, 1990

South of the Border Terrorists
Typical spy action film - lots of gratuitous violence. Steve Railsback does his usual good job - here he is a washed up CIA agent who has been relegated to the boondocks and is hitting the bottle. When a US senator is almost assassinated on his watch he pulls himself together and gets the bad guys in the end. Good supporting cast. Railsback's portrayal of a guy on the skids was powerful stuff - ...

The Murder of JFK: Confession of an Assassin [VHS]12 reviews
James E. Files, Confession of an Assassin

Mpi Home Video, 1996

Learn more about James Files and the rest of the truth.
I am probably not an impartial reviewer, since I know much more about this story than the average person. Therefore I know James Files has done the american public, freedom and democracy, a big favor by telling the truth. Whether it will ever reach the masses, is an entirely different question. The forces that have succesfully covered it up for 40 years are not sitting idle and can only be ...

Assassins [VHS]44 reviews
Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas

Warner Home Video, 1997

Action Classic
Assassins is an oft-overlooked classic action movie, an excellent thriller delivered by director Joel Silver and the screenplay-writing Wachowski brothers. The story is about Robert Rath (Stallone), an assassin who gets his contracts via the computer. Rath wants to quit the sordid business, but he can't say no to the last big job, retrieving a computer disc and killing the mark, in this case an ...

School of Assassins (School of the Americas)

SCHOOL OF ASSASSINS (Narrated by Susan Sarandon) was nominated for an Academy Award in 1995 (Best Short Documentary). This short film examines how U.S. taxpayers foot the bill for a school on U.S. soil that has graduated some of the worst human rights violators in the hemisphere. Since it was established in 1946, the United States Army School of the Americas has trained thousands of Latin American and Caribbean soldiers. Among them, we learn in ...

The Emperor and the Assassin [VHS]60 reviews
Haifeng Ding, Li Gong

Sony Pictures, 2001

Two words ... Gong Li
If you're a fan of Gong Li, you have to watch this movie. Forget about Chinese history, this movie is about Gong Li. I have watched all her other movies, but she's absolutely gorgeous in this movie as are her acting and the costumes. Like one of the reviewers (Vu H. Vo) wrote, "As for Gong Li,who plays the Lady Zhou, what can you say? Just that her smile alone makes my heart ache as I realize ...

Our Lady of the Assassins [VHS]57 reviews
Wilmar Agudelo, Jairo Alzate

Paramount, 2002

Impressive, unpleasant, but definitely worthwhile.
I am not sure how much of this film is autobiographical and how much is fiction. I do know that Fernando Vallejo, the novelist who wrote the novel "Our Lady of the Assassins" as well as this film's screenplay, is a reknowned Colombian author who, like the Fernando in this film, spent much of his life in voluntary exhile. (In the real Fernando's case, the exhile was in Mexico and Italy). In ...

Samurai Assassin [VHS]19 reviews
Toshirô Mifune, Keiju Kobayashi

Animeigo, 1998

4 ½ + Stars: A Samurai Classic Based on Real Events...
1860 proved to be one of the bleakest times for the Tokugawa Shogunate. Triggered by a reversal of isolationist policies which allowed the U.S. battleships to port in Japan; the country became divided between factions of samurai clansmen that support isolationist policies and those who embrace the changes made by Naosuke Ii, nicknamed the "Red Devil" (played by Koshiro Matsumoto). Each faction ...

The Face of the Assassin [VHS]10 reviews

Warner Books, 2004

Great read
I have been a fan of David Lindsey since I was at university. I have read all of his books and this is one of his best. The story never flags and the pace is an adrinaline rush. Other reviewers have summerized the story, a bit exhaustably I might add, but I'll just say that if you like your thriller taunt, well written, and billiantly paced you will love this book.

The Judge & the Assassin (Le Juge et L'Assassin)1 review

Connoisseur Video Collection, 1990

Long Live Anarchy and Socialism!
I was impressed by "The Judge and the Assassin" and would have thought more of the film had I not watched it to the very end. In it there was a Leftist political celebration that was, I presume, done to highlight the director's purpose in creating this period piece into a movie. For me the problem was that the impact of the film did not match such boldly stated politics. For me, "The Judge and ...
