Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout [VHS] 25 reviews Jane Fonda
Warnervision, 1994
An awesome intro to yoga - if only there was a DVD! "Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" is one of the first exercise videos I bought, and it's still one of my favorites!
Jane starts out with a 20-minute stretching/toning routine that consists of a number of different poses. Next, she focuses on the Sun Salutation and leads you through a 15-minute segment based on the one sequence. She starts with the easiest variation of the routine, and ...

ABS Yoga for Beginners [VHS] 73 reviews
Gaiam, 2000
Good AB Workout When I first did this video I thought this isn't doing anything. I don't feel like I'm working out at all...then the next day my ABs were sore (in a good way)! I was surprised such a low impact workout could work so well.

Ali MacGraw - Yoga Mind & Body [VHS] 258 reviews Ali MacGraw, Erich Schiffmann
Warner Home Video, 1994
My favorite yoga DVD I absolutely love this DVD. In fact I first bought this many years ago on VHS and still find that I keep returning to this program. The setting is beautiful and the instruction is a very mindful yoga practice by Erich Schiffmann. This DVD is in fact more about yoga as a practice than as a workout. So while it will improve your health, it is just as much about your mind/spirit. If this is ...

Tai-Chi for Health [VHS] 12 reviews Tai Chi for Health

Tai chi for health This is an excellent Tai Chi tape; it shows all the moves in each direction: from front, side and rear. I just wish that there was a following tape for the next set of moves. Please tell the person doing this tape that we all could use a second tape!

Living Yoga - Back Care Yoga for Beginners [VHS] 56 reviews
Gaiam Inc., 2000
Excellent video for back pain After suffering with back pain for months and using doctor prescribed strong painkillers, I got very little relief and wasn't keen on continuing using painkillers long term. Gradually I started researching alternatives and read reviews for this video and bought it. I don't have enough good things to say about this video, it gave me relief within days, I don't have back pain anymore. Now I use ...

Yoga Fitness for Kids Ages 7-12 [VHS] 8 reviews Kalish
Gaiam, 2001
fun for all My group of kids ages 6 -11 all love this video. It's a riot to see them all trying the different poses. They ask for this video on an "indoor day" when it is snowing or raining. Even the most awkward kids enjoy trying because it is very low key and presented as a learning experience. They are often surprised at what they can do!!

Yoga Journal's Yoga for Beginners with Patricia Walden [VHS] 58 reviews Yoga Journal
Gaiam, Inc., 2000
A Solid Beginning Patricia Walden's Beginners tape is a great instructional video on Iyengar yoga fundamentals. I took Iyengar Yoga in college as an elective, but I didn't like it and could't wait for the classes to end because they were painfully slow. Cutting yoga classes brought my GPA down, but I just couldn't bear holding the poses for infinity when I had jobs, sleep, exams, books, and lectures waiting for ...

Kathy Smith - New Yoga Basics for Beginners [VHS] 34 reviews Kathy Smith
Sony, 1998
Perfect for beginners! This is the first yoga video I ever bought, and it's the only one that I keep coming back to!
My only complaint is the length. At 50+ minutes long, the video is too long for me to do the whole thing every day. I tend to do just the floor poses and then I skip to the guided relaxation.
I do feel great afterward. It's a great way to get rid of a headache. I even found that it helped with my ...

Total Yoga [VHS] 50 reviews Total Yoga
Gaiam, 2000
VHS worn out completely, had to replace my VCR from overuse! I had no yoga experience when I picked up this video. I loved it, and within two months was in better shape than I have ever been. I am rarely inspired to exercise, and hardly keen to do a 60 minute routine. However, I loved this so much that I went out and bought some new DVDs of other instructors to vary the pace a bit. I thought, "I'll try that Rodney Yee guy, maybe that other girl that my ...

Balance Ball Fitness - Abs Workout [VHS] 12 reviews Balanceball Workout
Gaiam, 2001
Great Abs Workout I love this video. The first time I did it, it didn't feel like I was working anything, but I did the whole 30 minutes nonetheless. Later that evening, I couldn't believe how much I had worked my abs. They actually hurt when I laughed! And I couldn't work them for a few days. Since then, I can do the tape every other day or so and I can see a lot more definition. I feel great and refreshed ...

Balance Ball Fitness - Upper Body Workout [VHS] 5 reviews Balanceball Fitness

A Wonderful & Creative Idea on Workout! It combines yoga & pilates by using just a ball which in turn is loved by my 5-month old boy. It's creative & helps create awareness in movements. Unlike weight-training, this ball-exercise is more interesting & efficient. Bravo!

Ageless Fitness - Fresh Start! Light and Gentle Exercise [VHS] 6 reviews Jim Burnworth
Ageless Fitness, 1995
ageless perspiration Having had a knee replacement 2 1/2 months ago, I knew I wanted something to get me going again. This is the one. Walking and swimming I enjoy but I have never exercised to a tape before or for that matter, exercised in any formal way. Fresh Start makes me feel great. I look forward to doing this 35 min tape everyday. From the beginning I have been able to do it easily. And I can make it ...

Buns of Steel Mind & Body Series - Yoga [VHS] 24 reviews Buns of Steel
Warner Home Video, 2001
Best Yoga tape I've used A friend gave me a stack of yoga tapes for beginners. The first few seemed more like yoga-robics they went so fast. I couldn't keep up. I'd be trying to learn the move and they'd be on to another. I had no time to appreciate any pose at all, either, to get the maximum benefit from it.
Then I came to Buns of Steel Mind/Body. Big sigh of relief. Marguerite Baca goes at a gentle pace I can follow ...

My favorite workout I have been using the Fat Burning Yoga dvd for 5 years and still love it. I am almost 60 years old and my body has never been in better shape. I am very flexible. I do this along with ab workouts, a combo dvd of Tai Chi-Pilates and Yoga and 2 or 3 others. I am very fit and feel much younger than my years. I am very fussy about the instructors. Too perky will drive me crazy and too slow is ...
